Governor's Showcase: Career and Technical Education

In the next 10 years, 70% of Arizona's jobs will require training beyond a high school diploma. Career and technical programs in Arizona prepare students for workforce success and continuous learning. Beginning in high school, Arizona students have access to high-quality career and technical education that provides them with the necessary skills to enter the workforce.

"Preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow should be at the forefront of every state’s education agenda," said Governor Ducey. "Arizona is already a leader in bringing together businesses with schools and higher education to design practical early college and career pathways. We will continue to focus on equipping all Arizona students with the in-demand skill sets that will enable them to succeed in the 21st century economy."

Inaugural attendees will have the opportunity to visit with over teachers and students from West-Mec, Pima, VACTE, Mountain Institutes and CVIT and learn about programs in agriculture, engineering, nursing, auto repair, aviation, culinary, fire, EMT, early childhood and many more workforce training programs. Wesley Bolin Plaza will be lined with booths manned by over 223 teachers and students from Agua Fria, Buckeye, Deer Valley, Peoria, Vail, Sahuarita, TUSD, Miami and Globe school districts.
